CGS at the Family Discovery Day Event

Family Discovery Day, hosted by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Boulder/Louisville area, aims to help individuals connect with their heritage and discover family stories by providing free, engaging, and interactive activities for all ages, strengthening family bonds and fostering a sense of belonging through shared ancestry.

This fair-style genealogy workshop will have booths and displays teaching visitors about different aspects of family history. Featuring engaging activities including technology training, photo digitization, DNA learning and cultural displays, Family Discovery Day is for anyone looking to explore their family tree, record their personal history and bridge the gap between their ancestors, their present family and future generations.

Community members are invited to bring their laptops or tablets or use those provided to start or extend their family trees using FamilySearch features.
We will have a over a dozen booths and displays touching on: Using FamilySearch, scanning photos, documenting memories, vintage clothing, understanding your surname’s origin and meaning, discovering connections with other attendees, getting involved in genealogy, DNA, family heirlooms (show and tell), etc.
