Program Description
Thankfully, genealogy books are still being published.
Over the past few years, Bobbi has reviewed books for Dick Eastman’s Online Genealogy Newsletter. As a result, she’s looked at and read through hundreds of books, and she presents here some of her favorites, and some you might want to avoid. She offers to talk about what books you might like to have in your library, and some you should take a pass on.
Biography:
Roberta “Bobbi” King currently serves as president of CGS. She’s been active in CGS for over 20 years, having served in various capacities in volunteering, speaking, writing, and organizing events. She serves as bylaws reviewer for the National Genealogical Society. She was active for many years in the Federation of Genealogical Societies, back when FGS was an integral part of providing resources for genealogy societies. She is a former president of the Colorado Council of Genealogical Societies and the Colorado Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists.
She reviews books for Dick Eastman’s Online Genealogy Newsletter, from which she derives her opinions on what makes a good book, and what makes a book not-so-good.
She is compiling in final form her family histories and preparing manuscripts for self-publication. She digitizes all her family photographs and prepares them to pass on to her children and grandchildren in acid-free boxes and thumb drives.
She lives in Lakewood with her husband.
